I love books, photography, gardens, animals, and finding ways to combine all those things.  I am looking forward to trying some new things, new places and will be writing about my journey.  Maybe my path along the way will inspire you too!

Welcome to the Working Hard on Hardly Working blog!  I am exploring the transition from working to retirement and trying to figure out where this new road will take us.  My name is Terri and along with my husband Paul and we have raised two children and many, many pets.  I have worked for the same company for the last 32 years.  While working full time and raising two children,  I somehow managed to finish my Bachelors degree in Business Management and went on to get a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture.

I always thought I would quit my “day job” and use my Landscaping degree.  Somehow that never happened.  Even though I never had the opportunity to use it, it furthered my love of places, buildings, nature and plants.  I realized having those things infused into my daily life brings me joy.

Thinking of retirement takes me back to the days I dreamed of college, careers and what would I do with my life.  Now it’s time to look forward to enjoying old hobbies and new ones, all of the things we put on hold until we had more time.  Free time ahead!

Let’s begin the countdown to the next chapter of “hardly working”.
